Research in my laboratory focuses on mammalian behavioral development and its physiological substrates. My students and I are currently investigating how social, ecological, and endocrine variables interact during an individual's early development to influence its subsequent behavior and its reproductive success as an adult.

An MSU Special Report and new blog
MSU College of Natural Science produced a special report on hyenas and our hyena research.  We've started a new blog this summer, "Notes from Kenya," to chronicle our adventures in the field. Thanks to Michael Steger and others in the college for taking interest in our work and spreading the good word about hyenas.
