Preventive health information for international travelers.

Recommendations about preventive medications and vaccinations to international travelers are reviewed in an ongoing way by several public health and international travel organizations. Because disease patterns shift, and drug resistance can be a problem, these recommendations often change. Because of this, we encourage you to visit the Travel Clinic at Olin health Center at MSU or any other physician practice experienced in travel medicine to get this current information from international health advisory groups; then you are equipped to make the best decision for yourself about what vaccinations and medications you choose to take. Faculty who are not health care professionals cannot give you medical advice, but rather can point you to good sources of information, to enable you to make the best decisions possible about your health and safety while traveling. This is important, so plan well ahead!
